Karachi: Shahid Afridi will play for Pakistan and will be Brand Ambassador for the Inaugural Over 40s World Cup to be played in Karachi from 23rd September to 8th October 2023.

This was decided in a meeting held yesterday between Mr. Fawad Ijaz Khan Chairman Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association, Mr. Shahid Afridi, Mr. Nadeem Omar Director PVCA and Owner of PSL Franchise Quetta Gladiators & Mr. Zafar Malik CEO Shahid Afridi Foundation. It was also agreed that Shahid Afridi Foundation will be CSR Partner for the Over 40s World Cup.

Eight Countries will participate in Inaugural Over 40s World Cup. Joining the hosts Pakistan will be teams from Australia, West Indies, Canada, USA, UAE, Hong Kong & Saudi Arabia. A total of Nine matches which include Pakistan’s group stage matches, one Semifinal & Final will be Live Telecast from National Bank Stadium whereas the remaining matches of the tournament will be Live Streamed.

The Mega Event promises to build a positive image of Pakistan with an extensive set of activities programmed for the visiting teams including Grand Opening & Closing ceremonies. Leading names like Younis Khan & Misbah-ul-Haq will also be featuring for team Pakistan in the Over 40s World Cup.
