About PVCA
History
The Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA), having come into being in 1998, has continued to grow and made its presence felt on the national and international scene in a big way. The consistent policies at the top have been instrumental in overcoming the obstacles and meeting the challenges.
Background
The idea of formation of veterans cricket association had come when Ideal Group organized a tournament in Karachi in 1997. The final of this tournament was contested between Ideal Group and A. O. Clinic and this match was also televised and then PVCA was formed on 23rd April 1998.
At the time of the formation of the body the basic idea was to reactivate the former cricketers and bring them back in the field of play. The ensuing response was far greater that was being initially anticipated and the PVCA was off to a flying start. Tremendous enthusiasm was generated in the cricket fraternity and many of those having hung their boots were lured back to the arena they loved to be in.
