The Semifinalist line-up for the IMC Over-40s T20 World Cup 2025 has been confirmed following the conclusion of the league stage in Karachi. From Group A, Pakistan and South Africa advanced, while Australia and the USA qualified from Group B. The Semi-Finals will be played on Saturday at the National Bank Stadium, where Australia will face South Africa in the first semi-final, followed by Pakistan taking on the USA in the second.
In the last league match, Pakistan Over-40s defeated Canada by 85 runs at the National Bank Stadium. Batting first, Pakistan posted 202 for 5, with Fawad Alam leading from the front in the absence of captain Abdul Razzaq, who opted to rest. Alam scored an impressive 66 off 38 balls, marking his fourth consecutive half-century of the tournament, while Tariq Mahmood contributed 44 off 39 balls. Canada, in reply, were bowled out for 117 in the 19th over. Muhammad Suleman claimed three wickets for just eight runs, while Zulfiqar Babar and Hassan Nasir took two wickets each. Fawad Alam was named Player of the Match.
At the same venue, Australia secured their place in the Semi-Finals with a dominant nine-wicket victory over Zimbabwe. Chasing 145, Australia reached the target in the 17th over, driven by a commanding 85 off 57 balls from Jeff Hemming.
Over at the NBP Sports Complex, USA defeated Rest of the World by five wickets to book their Semi-Final berth, successfully chasing 147 with strong all-round contributions from Anwar Ahmed, who scored 46 runs and took two wickets. Abdul Qadir also impressed with three wickets for 15 runs.
At the Moin Khan Academy, Rest of the Gulf secured a 101-run win over Sri Lanka after posting 255 for 4, with Choudhry Muhammad Imran scoring 80 and Rehan Khan adding 68. In another fixture at the same venue, South Africa overcame the UAE by 17 runs to claim the Semi-Final spot, defending their total of 151 through key performances from Reinhardt Strydom (44), Muhammad Sohail Imran (43) and Piet Botha who took three wickets.
In another match, Hong Kong defeated the West Indies by seven wickets, successfully chasing 199 with a ball to spare, thanks to a match-winning unbeaten century by Moner Dar, who scored 100 off 54 balls.
