On 29th August, Pakistan Veterans team departed for Brisbane to participate in the inaugural Over 60s World Cup scheduled to be played between 2 to 15 September. Twelve teams will be on show during the event. These teams are divided into two groups.

Group A: Australia, India, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Canada & Wales

Group B: Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, USA & Rest of the World

The matches will be played at various venues across the Queensland Sunshine Coast. Team Pakistan will begin its campaign by facing off South Africa on 3rd September. The very next day they will be in action against the West Indian Side. Team Green will play its third match on 6th September against New Zealand. The fourth match will be against the Rest of World team scheduled to be played on 7th September. Pakistani Veterans will play their final group stage encounter on 9th September. All matches will start at 4:30 AM, Pakistan Standard Time.

A Farewell Lunch was organized by Chairman Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association Mr. Fawad Ijaz Khan, prominent figures from various fields of life sparkled the function with their presence and encouraged the Pakistan Veteran’s team to do splendidly well in the upcoming global event. Mr. Arif Habib, Javed Kureshi, Dr. Zahid Jamal, Former Pakistan players Haroon Rasheed and Shahid Mehboob, Asim Omar, Hasan Omar and Azhar Hameed were few of the key names present on the occasion.
