Pakistan Over 50s team is top-ranked team with the highest win/loss percentage in the World. The Men in Green have so far played 19 Matches, winning 15, losing 2 and the remaining 2 matches had no result. A win/loss percentage of 88.24 across the three Over 50s World Cups played in 2018, 2020 & 2023. The first loss was against Australia in the nerve-tangling final of Over 50s World Cup 2018 where Pakistan fell short by a tantalizingly close margin of 3 runs. The second defeat came against South Africa in the pool match of Over 50s World Cup 2023. The team has played in all three Over 50s World Cups but it is yet to play any bilateral series at the Over 50s level of cricket.
Pakistan remained unlucky in the Over 50s World Cup 2023 as the side played splendidly well throughout the competition but rain played the spoilsport for Pakistan Team as their match against UAE got washed out. The only match in a tally of 56 World Cup matches that was abandoned due to rain. Apart from that, Pakistan registered 6 fairly comfortable victories & lost a closely contested match against the hosts South Africa in the Over 50s World Cup played in Cape Town during March this year.
Pakistan became the Champions of Inaugural Over 60s World Cup held in Brisbane in September 2022. Australia & England won the Over 50s World Cups played in 2018 & 2023 respectively. Pakistan with its developed Over 40s structure at the domestic level will be entering the Inaugural Over 40s World Cup as one of the hot favorites. The tournament is scheduled to be held in Karachi from 23rd September to 8th October 2023.
