Karachi: The 23rd National Seniors Cup is in full swing in the Southern Region of the Country with matches being played at different grounds of Karachi.
In the Sixth match of the ongoing competition, Omar Associates came across Factdate Engineering. Omar Associates after being put into batting first assembled 177-5 in their 20 overs. Jaffar Qureshi & Imran Javed dominated the scoreboard with their half-centuries. Obaid Ullah picked three wickets. In their chase, Factdate Engineering got bowled out in the penultimate over managing 158 runs, thus losing the match by 19 runs. Adnan Kaleem, Jaffar Qureshi & Tahir Khan grabbed three wickets each. Jaffar Qureshi was nominated as Player of the Match for his fantastic all-round performance.
In the Seventh match, Omar Associates outplayed Fay Veterans by seven wickets. Fay Veterans after batting first lingered onto 130-7 as Tahir Khan delivered a top-notch spell picking up four wickets. Imran Javed lead a smooth chase for Omar Associates with his knock of 63. Tahir Khan was awarded Player of the Match. Whereas, in another encounter, Factdate Engineering defeated Denim Crafts by 7 wickets. Denim Crafts after being invited to bat first managed 170-5 in their innings. Factdate Engineering on the back of brilliant innings of 84* from Farrukh Rizvi which included 4 fours and 5 maximums, easily overcame the required total. Farrukh was declared Player of the Match for his valuable contribution.
In the Ninth match of 23rd National Seniors Cup. Haseen Habib collided with Seals Veterans. Haseen Habib after being put into batting first, scored 169-7. Kamil Mehmood played an impressive knock of 75 runs. Seals Veterans in their reply, got all-out on 143 runs. Sharafat picked four wickets. Kamil Mehboob remained Player of the Match. In the tenth match of the competition, Total Energy faced the challenge of Airport Gymkhana. Airport Gymkhana after batting first accumulated 166 runs for the loss of four wickets. Faisal Mirza & Salman scored half-centuries. Total Energy chased the required total in the penultimate over as Arshad Azam chipped in with a quality knock of 61 runs which consisted of 5 fours and 4 Sixes and was awarded Player of the Match for his valiant effort.
