Pakistan Over 50s Team Outclass Namibia by 10 Wickets
Pakistan Over 50s team has clinched their last group game against Namibia in Over 50s Cricket World Cup. The one-sided encounter was played at Green Point Cricket Club, Cape Town South Africa.
Namibia Over 50s side after winning the toss decided to Bat first. A decision that appeared to be horribly wrong when they lost four wickets on just 2 runs. The Namibian batters simply had no answers to an exquisite opening burst from Fawad Barry. The precession of wickets continued and ultimately Namibian team was bundled out on 67 runs in the 28th Over. Fawad Barry delivered an excellent spell grabbing three wickets for three runs. Naeem Tayyab continued with his sublime show throughout the World Cup and bowled yet another quality spell taking three wickets for five runs.
Pakistan smoothly chased the required total in the 14th Over without losing any wicket. The openers Fawad Barry and Imtiaz Ahmad made 39(55) and 24(27) respectively. Fawad Barry was declared ‘Player of the Match’ for his splendid all-round performance.
Pakistan Over 50s team despite performing decently for the most part throughout the tournament was unable to grab a spot in the Semifinals. The team managed to Win four matches, lost one and their game against UAE was washed out, the decisive factor in the end.
