Pakistan Team Leaving for Over 50s World Cup on 3rd March 2023
Karachi: Pakistan Over 50s team under the captaincy of former Test Player Zahoor Elahi will be leaving for Cape Town, South Africa on 3rd March 2023 to participate in the Over 50s World Cup.
The second Over 50s World Cup is scheduled to be played from 6th March to 20th March in Cape Town. Fourteen International Sides will be competing in the Mega Event and a total of 56 Matches will be played. Alongside Pakistan will be teams from Australia, South Africa, India, England, New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Wales, Canada, USA, UAE and Namibia.
Pakistan is placed in Pool B where they will kick off their campaign against Wales on 6th March 2023. The very next day on 7th March, Pakistan will be facing South Africa. On 9th March, Men in Green will be taking on UAE. Pakistan vs England will be played on 12th March followed by the crucial clash against India on 13th March. Pakistan will play its last group match against Namibia on 15th March, with Semi-Finals lined up to be played on 17th March 2023. The Final of the Over 50s World Cup will be played on 20th March at the Test Centre, Newlands Cricket Ground.
On 2nd March, Pakistan Over 50s squad (split into two teams) will be playing a Warm-up game at Karachi Gymkhana Cricket Ground in order to gear up for the all-important tournament. The Contest will be followed by a Farewell Dinner at KG Club.

Pakistan Over 50s team will be seeking inspiration from the Pakistan Over 60s team that became Global Champions in the Over 60s World Cup played in Brisbane in September 2022.
