Karachi: The 23rd National Seniors Cup is on the brink of entering the decisive round as teams continue to clash in the Southern Region of the country.
In the eleventh match of the tournament. Umer Enterprises came across Seals Veterans. Umer Enterprises after opting to bat first assembled 189-5 in their inning. Ali Iqbal remained the standout with his unbeaten knock of 109 which included 8 fours & 7 maximums. Qudrat Ullah picked three wickets. In reply, Seals Veterans managed 163-9, thus falling short by 26 runs. Akbar Sadozai grabbed 3 wickets. Ali Iqbal was awarded Player of the Match for his splendid knock.
In another match, Haseen Habib contested with Total Energy. Haseen Habib after being put into batting first, managed 162-7. Naeem Tayyab took three wickets. In their chase, Total energy attained 158-7 in their allotted overs. Hence, Haseen Habib clinched the closely contested match by 4 runs. Fawad Bari was nominated as Player of the Match for his steady all-round performance which included 40 runs & a wicket. In the next game, Omer Associates defeated Denim Crafts by 15 runs. Omer Associates scored 186-2 on the back of a superb 143* inning from Hanif ur Rehman crafted upon 14 fours and 10 sixes. Denim Craft got bundled out on 171 runs in the penultimate over in their chase. Mohammad Kashif grabbed three wickets. Hanif ur Rehman won the Player of the Match award.
In the 14th match, Balochistan veterans faced the challenge of Fay Veterans. Balochistan after deciding to bat first, scored 153-8 in their innings. Captain Sana Ullah remained the highest scorer with his knock of 47 runs. Fahad Anjum picked four wickets. Sameer khan and Fahad Anjum guided a smooth chase for Fay veterans with their knocks of 63 and 48 runs respectively. Ultimately, Fay veterans won the contest by 5 wickets. Fahad Anjum was declared Player of the Match.
In the 15th encounter of the tournament, Factdate Engineering outclassed Balochistan Veterans, defeating them by a mammoth margin of 145 runs. Factdate Engineering after batting first, accumulated a substantial sum of 261-7 in their 20 overs. Farrukh Rizvi, Ghazanfar Richi & Tasawar Abbas contributed in with their half-centuries. Balochistan Veterans crumbled onto 116-9 in their chase as Tariq Murad, M. Rizwan Qureshi & M. Nadeem Akhtar took 2 wickets each. Farrukh Rizvi grabbed the Player of the Match award for his impressive knock of 97 runs.
