Karachi Panthers & Lahore Lions qualify for the Final.

Lahore: On the last day of league stage encounters, Lahore Lions defeated Karachi Panthers. Whereas, Sialkot Veterans remained victorious against Southern Punjab Multan.

Karachi Panthers after winning the toss invited Lahore to bat first. The hosts accumulated 225-9 in their inning. Ahmed Shahab continued with his tremendous run in the tournament as he churned out his second fifty within the competition. His innings of 59 runs included eight fours and a couple of maximums. Dastagir Butt and Muhammad Hafeez contributed with their innings of 49 and 38 runs respectively. Naeem Tayyab grabbed three wickets whereas Jaffer Qureshi chipped in with two wickets. Karachi’s openers provided a stable start with a half-century stand but continuous tumbling of wickets afterwards resulted in them felling short by 31 runs. Mazhar Hussain scored 44 runs, while Imran ul Haq managed 41 runs. Imtiaz Tarrar took three wickets whereas Muhammad Hafeez and Rehan Rauf picked two wickets each. Muhammad Hafeez was declared ‘Player of the Match’ for his well-composed all-round performance.

In another contest, Sialkot Veterans overcame Southern Punjab Multan by 36 runs. Sialkot while batting first ended their innings upon 203 in the penultimate over. Qalb-E-Shah-Abbas and Amir Mir chipped in with steady knocks of 49 and 42 runs respectively. Asif Shah & Daud Yousaf remained the star performers with the ball in hand picking up three wickets each. In reply, Southern Punjab Multan fizzled out on 167-9 in their allotted quota of overs. Muhammad Haroon top-scored with his knock of 43 runs. Zulfiqar Ashraf and Seith Qayyum held onto three wickets each.

These results meant Lahore Lions and Karachi Panthers finished on first and second spots and the two sides will collide in the all-important final on Friday, November 11, 2022.
