Sindh Government hosted reception for Over 60s Champions

Karachi: Mr. Saeed Ghani (Minister of Labour & HR) organized a vibrant dinner to honour the victorious Over 60s World Cup squad. Leading personalities from various disciplines of life were present on this auspicious occasion.

Pakistan Veterans team recently participated in the Over 60s World Cup held in Brisbane, Australia. Top twelve teams from the cricketing globe participated in the tournament. Pakistan after performing splendidly throughout the group stage qualified for the Semi-finals where they ousted the tournament’s favourite Australia after a thrilling combat. Men in Green outclassed the New Zealand side in the final and became the crowned champions.

Speaking at the occasion Saeed Ghani and Arbab Lutfullah (CM’s Special Assistant on sports) felicitated the champion squad on their commendable performances and impressive fitness levels. Moreover, ensured complete sponsorship and logistic support for the upcoming Over 40s World Cup which will be held in Karachi next year from 23rd September to 8th October. Moreover, Arbab Lutfullah and Sheikh Umer Rehan (Former President KATI) announced one million each for the winning squad.

While sharing his thoughts, Chairman of the Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association, Mr. Fawad Ijaz Khan said: “I would like to thank Mr. Saeed and his team”. He enlightened the guests with the achievements of PVCA at different age levels. Moreover, He added: “Fourteen teams will be participating in the Over 40s World Cup which will be held in Karachi next year from 23rd September to 8th October. We want the Government of Sindh to be our official partner for that World Cup’’. He also thanked Arbab Lutufullah for his sponsorship commitment for that very tournament.  At the end Mr. Fawad presented momentos to Mr. Saeed Ghani, Arbab Lutfullah & Iqbal Memon (Commissioner Karachi). Whereas, Saeed Ghani presented momento to former Test Captain Younis Khan.

Mirza Iqbal Baig fulfilled the hosting responsibilities throughout the dinner ceremony.
